Client Request Number 1

The client we will call Mr. Restaurant wanted to send personalized birthday and welcome greetings, specials and notifications to his contacts, but we could not figure out at first how we could help accomplish this for him.

Looking into our service offerings, we only allow the client to send messages to a set number of groups. For example, you have 1000 contacts in your account and your email service provider's basic plan typically only comes with the ability to have up to 5 groups. However, Mr. Restaurant wanted the ability to have 13 groups. By separating his list into 12 groups, this would allow him to have 1 group for each month of the calendar year, and 1 master list to send a message to all for events like their New Year’s Party. Mr. Restaurant requested that without having his account increased to an account size that would cover more groups, which was the case of our service option, he would have had to increase his account size to 12,000 contacts which offers 20 groups, more than enough groups to cover his 13 group needs.

We reminded Mr. Restaurant that like a restaurant menu, which is merely a guideline of the dishes that you can actually order at a restaurant, so is our feature set that is provided for our Viper Mailer plans. We designed our features list to offer a variety of options to meet the needs that we felt would cover most of our user’s email marketing service requirements. To listen to a client and respond in a timely fashion is important to us and to Mr. Restaurant. So, we immediately modified or customized the plan in his account to allow for 13 groups of contacts, which provided him with the 12 groups he needed for covering each month of the year, allowing him on the first of the month every month to now send out all of that month’s birthday wishes and a special birthday offerings. The 13th group is where he stores a complete list of all of his contacts for his monthly specials, events, new items, and other wine tasting nights or “meet the chef” special dining evenings for loyal customers, etc.

Email Marketing Plan Customization is Common

We at Viper Mailer really attempt to try our best to think about what our customers are going to need in their account in the way of the features that we have to offer. However, as we wrote about the above request, this was a special circumstance with a really quick fix that satisfied the needs of the clients. Mr. Restaurant could not be happier. It did not add any cost to his marketing budget, but it did allow him to expand his message powers greatly.

Client Request Number 2

The Viper Mailer Email Marketing Plans are only a guideline for the possibilities that a client can have through our services, including one that came in the other day. Happily, this one also was easy to solve. This client, we will call Mrs. Traveler, has an account with us for 25,000 contacts. She sends out a monthly message to her list. However, Mrs. Traveler advertises frequently in printed publications and television offerings, such as contests to win a free trip for two to a special destination by going online and filling out a contest form.

So, Mrs. Traveler has been gathering additional Opt-In email contacts. When the applicants enter the contest, they checked a box to be included into the client’s emailing list for future on-topic offers for the prize trip destination. After about 8 months, the client had an additional 40,000+ contacts, and she realized that she wanted to add these contacts into their Viper Mailer account. When she went to our pricing plans, she noticed that we did not offer an account size that big. We actually do, but our posted plans only went up to 50,000 total contacts, which would still be 15,000 contacts short of the 65,000 that she had.

Mrs. Traveler called, and we explained we actually have plans covering contacts of up to 1 million, but wanted to keep our price list simple and easy to understand for new sign up clients. So we were able to provide the current 25,000 client with a 75,000 contact account right over the phone, and she happily uploaded her additional contacts into their account.

In this case, the additional 50,000 contacts costs her more money to have an account that met their new requirements. However, keep in mind that email marketing is the lowest cost and best (ROI) Return on Investment that a client can utilize for their overall marketing budget. So Mrs. Traveler conveyed that she is very happy with the results that she gains each month, and she felt that the cost of adding additional contacts was more than worth the added cost.
